Background
Application is in the underexplored thrust belt of western Sicily. Only 1 well has been drilled on the application area, Marineo-1, which encountered oil shows in Jurassic carbonates. The main play on the block is for thermogenic gas from Miocene Numidian Flysch reservoirs in structural traps. Production analogy is Gagliano Field (400 BCFG), 100 km east.
